The awesome clip below shows off the Cali Crusher! We’re calling it the less inexpensive brother of the Space Case.
This crusher is affordable, durable and looks great. There are many points in favor of this crusher, and of course some that draw back from its advantages. No different than any other grinders on the market, the lower price comes with compromises in quality (but a lifetime warranty), both in the design and the end product of the ground-up herbs.
Why The Cali Crusher Grinder?
Let’s look at the benefits first. This grinder, or weed crusher, comes in four-different pieces and is made from aircraft-grade billet aluminum. Heavy-duty material helps it last, and a stainless steel screen will not rust no matter how many times you clean it in the sink. That is a big benefit and something to consider when you are buying any grinder. Another nice perk is that is that it comes in a variety of colors.
One excellent point for this grinder, is the O-ring. It is something that you don’t always see in the lower-end grinders because the manufacturers are cutting costs. While it may not seem like a big deal, the absence of an O-ring can cause the metal to grind on itself, between the parts. By putting in an O-ring, you prevent that from happening. It is important because it will help to increase the lifespan of the grinder, making it a better value for what you are purchasing.
The Cali Crusher also features smooth threads and neodymium magnets that help the grinder click together with ease when you decide to start grinding up herbs. The smooth threads make it easy to twist, which is a big benefit, especially with lower-end grinders.
Another plus for the grinder is the fact that it comes with a pollen scraper (cough cough, a kief scraper). The scraper helps the grinder move up the list of low-end grinders. Not as good as a Space Case or Santa Cruz Shredder by any means, but certainly a step in the right direction. Kief contains a higher amount of THC, which makes it more potent than regular marijuana. You knew that, right?
There have been some complaints from others about the screen breaking; but, as long as you are gentle it should not break. Despite its low cost, the Cali Crusher is built to last.
What Are The Negatives?
So, what are the drawbacks for the Crusher? As you use the grinder, the build-up of herbs makes it difficult to use after a time. If you are crushing up a lot of herbs, then it can become very annoying when you have to keep cleaning it out in order to keep using it.
The black screen can also make it hard to see where there is residue from herbs, and that again can cause problems for people who want to make sure there is no residue left over. I know you want all that kief!
Another problem is the fact that the grinder holes are far too big. It can cause the bud to come out clunky and uneven, and it can make it difficult to get a good consistency in your herbs when you are grinding them up. If you are using this for vaporizing purposes, then it is not the ideal grinder.
That all being said, it is a solid grinder for the price.
